Dear Tom,
As you know, this past weekend, I took delivery of my brand new 2004 Ducati ST4s from your dealership. Grey with the red wheels – my favorite color combination. I have to say that never in my 20+ years of motorcycle riding have I had a better buying experience at a motorcycle dealership.
It started with your daughter at the recent Long Beach motorcycle show. My fiancee’ Kim and I bumped into her at the show and were warmly invited by her to stop by your shop. A few weeks later, we decided to take her advice (as I was in the market for a new bike) and we stopped by and were greeted by you. Down to earth, kind, caring, not pushy, totally honest, and much like myself a huge enthusiast when it comes to motorcycles. By far you are kindest, most enthusiastic, most knowledgeable shop owner I have ever come in contact with, and I have dealt with quite a few.
Not knowing a whole lot about the Ducati brand, you proceeded to enlighten and educate me on these wonderful bikes. As each minute passed, I knew this was the bike, and I KNEW this was the dealership.
Then there was Meri Calo. Incredibly bright, fair, a great listener and professional; in a word, WONDERFUL. It’s clear to me that Meri is remarkably gifted in communicating with a wide variety of people in face-to-face interactions. She took over where you left off, and was not only able to put me at ease about getting financed, she was able to assemble a payment structure that was completely affordable. Meri was patient in answering all of my questions, and made myself and Kim feel so comfortable, I felt as if I had known her for years – even though I had just met her. She is clearly a very busy person, and not once did I feel like she was trying to rush me or ‘brush over’ anything. Any anxiety or nervousness I had about this purchase went out the window after I sat down with Meri.
Finally, when the deal was done, it was time to take the bike home. I wanted to have it trucked home since I didn’t have my gear with me and your Service Manager Dustin Edwards was glad to help. He patiently answered all of my questions about the bike, how to break it in, and made sure that I knew it was OK to call him with any questions that popped up. Like everyone on your incredible staff - he struck me as a true enthusiast and incredibly knowledgeable about these machines.
He wasn’t willing to let the bike go until he was absolutely sure it was set up properly. As a result, the bike wasn’t ready to come home until the next day - Christmas Eve - a day on which the shop closed early, and most people are consumed with holiday plans. Much to my delight - Dustin saw to it that I would have the bike for the weekend. His brother Danny trucked the bike right to my door on Christmas Eve day - and it was perfect. The bike had been cleaned, and Danny spent some extra time - after driving two hours - hanging out in my garage and talking through the bike with me.
I honestly felt like I was being treated like someone who had bought 10 bikes from you. 100% first class - from start to finish and absolute perfection in every sense of the word.
And then there’s the Ducati. What a bike! But what really showed was the quality and attention to detail your service department took in prepping it for delivery (especially on a very busy and rushed holiday weekend). I have never seen a better dealer-prep job on a new bike. The paint was perfect… even the brake rotors shined… and it came to my door on Christmas Eve without a scratch. Does life get any better?
But it didn’t stop there. It seemed everyone on your staff - said hello to us, was so friendly and clearly loved their jobs. It really showed through. There was Andre, and… your daughter and the rest of the parts staff - EVERYONE. It’s a genuine family atmosphere and it's obvious they love the great sport of motorcycling.
In my career as a Vice President of Marketing, my success relies heavily on the teams of people I bring together for a given project. The team that took care of me at your dealership is a clear winner!
You are indeed fortunate to have such a great group of people working for you. They are a textbook example of what an experience at a motorcycle dealership should be like. No doubt this is the first of many buying experiences I plan to have at Moto-Exotics.
There is no question that I will be referring friends and colleagues to MotoExotics if they are ever in the market. Thank you for helping make my dream of owning a new Ducati come true, and for such a great and memorable experience. I wish you and everyone else there continued success and growth in the future… and will no doubt see you very soon at the shop, at a bike night, or at the track. Thank you again!

"I am a owner of a 2007 Monster S2R1000 and had only previously brought my bike in for the initial service, which was an informitive and good expeirence. Recently I had made some aftermarket adjustments to my bike on my own and by doing so broke a part which disabled the bike from being able to start. I researched online, through blogs and even into books. All of which stated I would have to take the bike in to have it reset with the "RED" key. Which of course has been misplaced due to a recent move. So according to these online blogs I was looking at shelling out around $2,000 - $3,000 to replaced the entire system. I trailered my bike about 21/2 to 3hrs to the shop and spoke with TJ. He told me worst case yes they would have to replace the system, but let his guy's take a look first. Instead of making a 3hr trip back home he said he would get the bike right in and see what they can do. After about an hour of anticipation, TJ came and told that it was a $47 part and the bike will be ready to go in a few minutes. I was exstatic! Wow! Great job, not only did they save me a couple of grand, but more long trips and rental fee's for the trailer. To TJ, Trevor and crew, Thanks a million for all your hard work and dedication.

"I traded in my Harley Dyna Street bob for a Ducati Monster 696, Chris was my sales guy and he was very helpful and went out of his way to make sure I got the bike I wanted at the Price I was looking for. Mark in finance was very helpful and did a great job of follow up and having everything ready for me when I came to finish the purchase. The Service manager (Steve? I think?) was great he answered all my questions and was very intuitive of my knowledge of motorcycles by not telling me things I didn't need to know but focusing on what I was asking for.
The experience in this shop is definitely the most comfortable (not snobby) and upbeat (all the employee's were happy and ready with a joke or smile!) and the atmosphere was great and very easy to relax while waiting and I really like the selection of apparel and accessories, I will have a hard time not spending money in your store!
Also just a little side note: I shopped around a little before coming to your store and the two other Ducati dealers in my area are years behind you in look, feel and attitude... the one thing in particular that I noticed was how snobby and uncomfortable the local dealer in Lake Forest made me feel on multiple occasions when I was looking around! It felt like I was in Ferrari dealership in Beverly Hills... like they didn't trust me around the bikes and didn't even want my business!
You guys on the other hand made it feel like I was over at a buddies house buying a bike from him in his (very clean, organized) garage.

"I own a Harley 2003 Heritage softail and a custom Big Bear Chopper. I just took delivery on a Street Triple and the whole experience was fantastic. Scott was extremely professional, and everyone at the dealership treated me great. Although I love my harley, my experience at So. Calif. Triumph was better then any harley dealer. I'm getting used ti riding a whole different style motorcycle at 58 years old and am loving it.

"I visited Southern California Triumph today for the first time to have my Scrambler serviced and new tires fitted. It was an outstanding enjoyable experience in all respects.
TJ, Trevor and the tech who worked on my bike, Rick Poole were professional, friendly and extremely helpful. It is evident that everyone on staff enjoys their job and the workplace environment.
The dealership is 60 miles away but my bike won't be going anywhere else for service in the future.

First, I want to thank Tony, Trevor and Mark for there downright make you feel like you should be there attitude.
Your are the only bike shop I have ever been to that made you feel like one of the boys. I bought the 2008 Daytona 675 Triple Special Edition. It came off the truck on Wednesday and I bought it the next day. I have not riden since 2002 but that made no difference to them. I was throughly briefed on the bike by Trevor who seem to delight in that fact. before I had left (last one out), they made sure I did'nt have any questions unanswered. Truly an enjoyable experience and I love my 675. First of this kind of bike I have owned (there have been at least 15 in my lifetime, starting with a 1959 Bonneville 650) and I must say, I will be in for the comaraderie and when I need a new bike, I will come here. Thank you for the family feel.."

After hearing about your store through the grape vine, I decided to go check out what you had to offer (looking for upgrades and service center). When I first walked into the Victory store room, I was automatically greeted by Chuck, I explained to him that I did not purchase my new bike through Southern Cal but I would like to get information on upgrades for my hammer. "Bought the first motorcycle I have owned in over twenty years this weekend. Expected a certain degree of condescension directed toward my inexperience but I did not experience any attitude in any way. Everyone thru ought the purchase process was extremely friendly and professional. They offered additional services but when I declined they accepted my decision and did not continue to pressure me. When I picked up the bike, the gentleman that walked me through the safety briefing was reassuring without lecturing. (Having only ridden occasionally in the past year I was scared to death I would embarrass myself before leaving the lot) I spent the rest of the day with a smile from ear to ear as I rode my new motorcycle. How this dealership put this group together in one place is amazing. I have been buying vehicles for over 30 years and only one other time can I say I have been this happy with a purchase. "I recently purchased a 2007 America, but several months of research were involved. I spent a lot of time at Southern California Triumph and was elated with the reception I received each time I visited. I had been to some dealerships reviewing other brands of motorcycles and almost had to throw out a flash bang grenade to get someone's attention. All the sales staff at Southern California Triumph and their accessories staff were extremely helpful and had a great attitude. Unfortunately for them, I may become a "regular" at he the dealership because they did make me feel so welcome. Thanks to all at Southern California Triumph. P.S. "I bought a Ducati s2r 1000 this summer from Socal ducati. This was my second bike from Socal. My first bike was a triumph bonneville which I had for about a year. Both we're great experiences.
My experience with Socal while I had my triumph was outstanding. The sales team we're very helpful and accommodating yet never pushy. I also really appreciated the service department who were friendly and also helpful. I once had kicked the over flow pipe loose on the Triumph while riding and pulled in to Socal on a busy Saturday. Socal within a few minutes put a new clamp on with no charge. Again it looked pretty busy in the service department but Socal was friendly and accommodating.
I had a second bike with another dealership which I wasn't very happy with and it was that contrast that brought me back to Socal for my third bike the Ducati s2r 1000. The other dealer messed up the paper work when I bought the bike and the service department wasn't friendly. They just seemed not to care or work well together (somewhat disorganized).
Coming back to Socal for my third bike was a very easy decision. The experience was just as nice as the first. Ken helped with the trade in with no hassle and Meri was very helpful in setting me up with my bike and financing. Also Tj and his team were great when picking up the bike and spent time with me going over the bike in detail. Thanks again for the great experience and I look forward to doing more business with Socal in the future."

"You guys are rock as a dealership. I'm a first time rider about to take his MSF course but decided to go and check out some of the bikes first to see what I might like. I was totally blown away by the selection of bikes you guys had and the size of the show room. I was going expecting a Triumph show room, small and dingy with maybe two sales people in a deserted strip of mall. But I was pleasantly surprised to see a full and busy store filled with people all about. The other riders were friendly as I talked to them and were helpful on giving tips to a first timer like me. Then I was again surprised by the sales people, especially Meri Calo who was not only friendly but helpful and knowledgeable. Another pleasant surprise was the fact that I didn't need to talk to a sales person to sit on the bikes which was nice since I didn't feel pressured to buy one. On top of all that (I know this is becoming a bit much) I was amazed at the selection you guys had. From all the Triumphs to the Ducati to Victory. It was huge. I never considered Ducati as a company for me but now I'm seriosly considering the Monster S2R just by sitting on it and seeing how comfortable it was. All the accessories were great from the shirts, rider gear, helmets and even to the DVDs of MotoGP and Superbike races. For those of you reading, I've been to about six dealerships. Some were dingy, quiet little stores with some great bikes. Others had very snooty sales people that didn't want to help you unless you were looked like a rider(they wouldn't even let you on the bikes), and others simply either little or no selection and were cramed into small buildings. To sum it all up: Great bikes, Great people, great atmosphere. I'm up for my riding test this month and believe me, once that's out of the way, I'm coming back to see Meri and the people at So. Cal. motorcycles.

Andre and Meri had been the most gracious and hospitable hosts who took their precious times to chat with me even though they knew from the start that I may not buy anything from them. The offered test rides are invaluable and much appreciated. For what little it's worth, I bought an Aprilia Tuono R and it was a close call between it and the Monster S4R. Had I liked the S4R more, you guys would have made a sale with me hands down.

" While in Anaheim attending the NAMM show with my boyfriend, we had the good fortune to meet Tom's son, Brian. After learning Brian's dad had a Ducati shop, we had to check it out. Upon arrival, Andre warmly greeted us (which is a novelty in some shops!) As we browsed around, Tom, Meri, and Cindy also introduced themselves and chatted with us. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. They really created a great atmosphere to be in! It's so nice to go to a place where everyone is happy to be there and happy you're there as well. We could have spent all day in your dealership!
As a petite woman, I was thrilled to see so much apparrel in my size actually in stock! I am totally loving my red Rombo jacket! And Rob looks great in his retro jacket too!
On a side note, we loved the Mexican restaurant Tom recommended! It was actually the same place we had been trying to find in Anaheim, but it had apparently moved or closed since last year's visit. We remembered the table-side guacomole, but not the restaurant's name. As fate would have it, El Torrito was just the place we'd been looking for!
I would like to extend a huge thanks to Tom, Andre, Meri and everyone else for the wonderful experience in your dealership! I wish you many years of continued success and I look forward to visiting your shop again when I'm in the SoCal area.

"As someone who's as new to motorcycling as you can get, I found my experience at SoCal Triumph to be the best of all the many dealerships I'd checked out. There is a good reason why these guys were the last dealership I visited: there was no longer a need to keep looking! Their information was great, everyone very helpful and patient as I asked the simplest of questions. And, most importantly, they didn't allow me to leave with a bike that was above my ability to learn or with gear that was anything less than high-quality and comfortable.
